Knit Cap
Taquilean male clothing consists of a knit cap (ch’ullu), the colour and design of which ideally vary according to the wearer’s age and social status. When a teenage boy wears his hat folded to the right, it means he’s looking for a girlfriend. If he already has one, he wears the hat folded to the back, and younger boys who aren’t dating yet do this too to show they’re not interested.
