Borana
The traditionally semi-nomadic pastoralists are estimated to number around 500,000, but because many of their kin live in such remote areas, exact figures are unknown. Depending exclusively on their livestock for subsistence in one of Africa's more demanding environments, their lives revolve around the cattle, which they love and revere.
