Atsara Baup
The Atsara Baup is worn by monks and lay persons in Bhutan during the Tshechu, an annual event of mask dances and festivals which is held all over the country to commemorate the birth anniversary of Guru Rimpoche. The mask itself has a humorous gesture and is worn during the festival to arouse humour and a lively atmosphere among the audience and spectators who come to witness the festival dances.
